Bolibana Collection

The Bolibana Collection (2022) is Hamed Ouattara's most celebrated body of work — a series of sculptural cabinets handcrafted from reclaimed oil drum sheets in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. Presented at Friedman Benda Gallery (New York, 2023), with works acquired by the Brooklyn Museum and Denver Art Museum. In the Bamana language, "Bolibana" refers to the unusual end of a journey — a transformation.
